Simone Schiaffino is group leader of the breast imaging group at the CSSI (Centro di Senologia della Svizzera Italiana) in Lugano. He performs clinical and interventional breast imaging and breast imaging research. Areas of particular research interest include breast lesions of unknown malignant potential, breast cancer screening and breast MRI. He is member of the European society of breast imaging (EUSOBI) Young Club committee since 2022 and secretary of the Breast imaging section of the Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology for the six-year period 2021-2026. He is member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, European Radiology Experimental and European Journal of Radiology.
